Climate Activist Naomi Klein To Create a Documentary
Canadian author and social activist Naomi Klein and her filmmaker husband Avi Lewis are adapting Klein’s best-selling book, ‘This Changes Everything’ into a 2 hour documentary film.
Quotes: “Forget everything you think you know about global warming. The really inconvenient truth is that it’s not about carbon—it’s about capitalism. The convenient truth is that we can seize this existential crisis to transform our failed economic system and build something radically better.
In her most provocative book yet, Naomi Klein, author of the global bestsellers The Shock Doctrine and No Logo, tackles the most profound threat humanity has ever faced: the war our economic model is waging against life on earth.”
Burnt Koalas Suffer From In Australian Bush Fires
There’s a call for little mittens to help protect burn injuries on the paws of koalas who have been caught in the bush fires that have been raging in the hot outback of Australia’s South hinterlands.
EPA Chief On Climate Change: “Scary Thing Is Doing Nothing”
On the subject of cliamte change, EPA Chief Administrator Gina McCarthy stated at the American Meteorological Society (AMS): “The real danger and the real economic problem we face is not taking action.”
Dangerously Cold In the United States
With wind chill temperatures dropping below 73 degrees fahrenheit in Wisconsin and other dangerously low temps elsewhere, officials are warning citizens to bundle up to prevent frostbite. Meanwhile in California, temperatures have been approaching 80 degrees.
Freezing or Warming? Which Is It?
“But what about that icy blast heading down from Canada this week to put the Big Chill on most of the eastern United States? That, too, might be linked to warming: some researchers, according Climate Central, think that Arctic ice melt could prompt the frigid invasion of the so-called polar vortex.
Not all researchers believe that natural phenomena in all it variations can be tied to climate change. Extreme drought in California defies some models, although it does explain recent extreme heat and subsequent huge wildfires.”
