In response to Greta Thunberg, a 16 year old Swedish student who has garnered the world’s attention to the accelerating crises of climate change, the European Union’s Chief Executive pledged to spend every fourth euro of the EU budget on climate change mitigation from 2021 to 2027, or over 250 billion euros of a 1.13 trillion 7 year EU budgetary total.
